How To Create Webinars That Rock – Part 3

Let us delve deeper into how we can create webinars that people will actually enjoy and learn a great deal of information from. Unfortunately, not all of today’s webinars can fit in that category. Quite frankly, many of them are a waste of time. This is because they have not taken the time to plan and design it properly even though many of them had good intentions.

With that said, let’s look at some more traits that we find in webinars that are a flaming success.

Use a moderator. It’s surprising how many people cannot see the value of a moderator when it comes to creating a webinar. The fact is you need this person to expedite the entire experience for the audience. Moderators keep the event on focus and at an energetic pace that is conducive to good learning. Not only should you have a moderator, you should also be very selective in picking one. Just like with the speaker, you need a person who has the right personality to be a moderator.

Think hard before using videos. While video is one of the latest and greatest things to hit the Internet, it is not necessarily a wonderful thing to have in a webinar. Why? Simply because they have a tendency to change the pace and energy of the event. You have to understand that the speaker and the moderator have worked hard to get the audience engaged and videos often times disrupt this process. In addition, videos can present technical problems. If you build up an audience for them, then you better make sure that they work. If you absolutely have to have a video to demonstrate something of great value to your audience, then try to make them as brief as possible.

Rehearse and practice your webinar. One of the best ways to guarantee that you will have the great webinar is to practice and rehearse the event, and then after that practice and rehearse the event a couple of more times. Regardless of what people might say, you simply cannot be too prepared for a webinar. The practice sessions allow you to accomplish many things. To begin with, it allows you to test all the connections to your personal computers and slideshows, and it allows you to test your Internet connection if necessary.

Secondly, it gives your speaker and moderator the chance to work together and began setting the tone and pace of the event. It is a good idea to come up with lots of objections and questions that the audience may pose to them. Nothing gives an audience a better feeling about your product and services than to have the leaders of your webinar confidently handle all questions.
